great video :) but you did a mistake^^
the raw hdd images are as you said good for installing them on real ardware,but they are also mainly made to emulate them under "qmeu" ,because qemu does not need that many configuration files such like vmware player...
it just needs the image,which is in the format .vdmk for vmware player (qemu also supports that,but i don't think it runs as fast as a raw image)
so that was it.... great tutorial anyways :) keep on doing x)

One comment: Haiku hardware support is way better than BeOS, so the notion that it cannot run on modern machines is not necessarily true; as a matter of fact, Haiku has much better support for video, network, USB, Firewire and SATA than BeOS ever had. So while it is definitely easier to play with it in VMWare, those brave enough should try to give Haiku a spin on bare metal.

Thanks for the comment! I was unaware Haiku had that much additional support for devices. Do you happen to know of any hardware compatibility lists for Haiku? I couldn't find on on the Haiku site.
