Well first this is the SCA. And there are rules, and grappling is forbidden. To see the rules of these events see; SCA.org. We are a group of several thousand, world wide. We have two major events (wars) one Estrella War, and the second is called Pensic War. Pensic is the largest and is held in PA, while Estrella is held in AZ, in the spring. Google either by name and information is available.

Is there rules in this sort of melee that you cannot grapple with your opponent?JUst curious. I've recently learned that grappling wins most mixed martial arts competitions.

As an Antir Squire I must say, I know the feeling! I'm getting fairly good at fighting from my knees, if only I could learn to stay on my feet!
