Downies face at 0:56 says it all. He's like oh fuck I can be kicked outta the NHL for this. Bad play by Downie though. But I feel like something happened for him to do that (not justifying it) because it occurred not even 40 seconds into the game.

Wow, I don't even watch that much hockey but watching this video, it's very easy to see that Downie was clearly going for Crosby's leg. The puck was long gone and he knew it...he was definitely after the leg.
