You are correct. But with the recording I do, which is several continuous hours long, this is a bother (the other people bicycle on as I have to pull over and stop). As with my older digital camera, it would be better if it would just record until out of memory (or power). After all, it will hold ~8 hours.
Here's another thing people might find useful. If it is jarred, it can go out and stay out of focus. Don't know why, but for me this has been a problem. Only after the fact do I know.
the phones video quality is far better if its not been downsized by uploading it to youtube.i have an n82 and i can tell that the n82's video recording is the best on all the other camphones ive seen
Sure, with the right card. You can even go up to 32GB as such cards become available. One thing, among too many, that sucks is that even with a 8GB card, the phone s/w locks you in at 1 hour of recording max.
