This is a rare video of Chen Man-Ch'ing performing the style of Tai Chi Chuan that we practice in our system. This is a short form of the Yang style Tai Chi Chuan. I'm fifth generation down from Chen Man-Ch'ing.

  • Hi Dragon,

This is a great video, but as I see master Cheng performing form very bad, maybe because he want intentionaly to hide some secret of form.

  • @IsceljenjeTrauma You are correct....He is not showing all the movements in this video. I also think like you that he intentionally did this to hide parts of the form. I have a video of Dwight Higgins doing the form very slowly so people can see how to do it. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Take Care :-))

  • This is a great video Dragon. I am a student of Chin Man Ching's form and was wondering if you could send me a copy of this video in an email so that I can watch it on my phone and share it with my fellow students so that they can do the same. This would make studying mid-practice much easier when we are not with our sifu. I would greatly appreciate it if it is at all possible. Thanks!

  • @AlKorova Hello Al, excuse me for not getting back to you sooner, I've been busy. I tell you what...I'll do you one better, I'll point you in a direction to 2 programs that will let you download any video you find here on YT or anywhere on the web. I use them and they work great. Do a Google search for "YouTube Downloader" or "RealPlayer" either one will work, but I prefer the realplayer myself. Ck out my comment to gairforce17 for more info. Have fun and Take Care :-))

  • I watched a short clip of Professor Chen Man-Ch'ing years ago which is what he was called in the video and they said he was the softest of the soft but was never defeated and that he knew whether or not someone was attacking , getting ready to attack, attack imminent basically different states of fighting . But hated fighting . He had a student also that talked about him and had also taught his son and daughter who went on to winning many tournaments . Nice video

  • @NONNIE357 Nonnie I want to thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. He was a cool guy that really knew what he was doing. Take Care :-))

  • (continuance from previos post) Best way to pratice that is, that put on the top of the head one ceramic cup for coffe with saucer full of water and than practice tai chi form. Than you will discover softnes of tai chi chuan.

  • @Dragon71484

Yes, chinese master love to hide secrets from disciples, but not me :). Because that, I'll now reveled one secret - as I think, very important for performing of tai chi form: first we must connect three spots of our body in one straight line - bubbling spring (yongquan) from foot, with top point of our head and after that add third point - middle tan tien. This wil give low posture of full foot and soft movement.

  • @Dragon71484 Well I'll be...I didn't know realplayer was so fancy nowadays. Thanks for the heads up, and the video!

  • @NONNIE357 how come the guys who hate fighting are so good at it? X3

  • @Dragon71484 I still have the video , It has alot of Martial Artists from all over Including John Blooming it was a TV Documentary Narrated by Samuel L Jackson was talking about all styles of Martial Arts A really good video I'm gonna transfer to dvd and upload when I get a chance I'll keep you in mind when I Do .
