  • @ram0166 They weren't prayers. He took all the Gospel out of the bible and wrote a book on the moral teachings of Jesus. Was no bible, but a book on morality

Wrong. Atheism is the rejection of positive god claims. This can be divided into two camps, gnostic atheism, which makes a claim that there are no gods, and agnostic atheism, which states that while we do not possess absolute knowledge, there is currently no reason to believe that gods exist. I have yet to talk to an atheist who didn't identify as an agnostic atheist when pressed on the matter.

Would you say not collecting stamps is a hobby?

  • Obama is about as christian as Maher, both will have a big surprise when they die.

  • Atheism is a Religion, because you believe, you have faith there is no God without proof. When you die, it is only then you see the truth.

Go back to the definition of faith. Faith is believing in something without proof. Religion is a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith. Atheism is defined as the doctrine or belief that there is no God. Therefore Atheism is a religion.

  • @ram0166 I doubt that you paid much attention during your "tutelage". Unlike you, my opinions are based on the factual recounting of events and not motivated by partisan or self-serving objectives...ergo, you my friend are the one whose views are "political". Reagan did in fact end his post-political years involved in his church, of course he was suffering from the incurable effects of alzheimers during that time, so perhaps he found comfort in this.

  • @sidecar771 So you believe only what you want to and what you hear from a bunch of politicized liberals posing as historians not the people who actually knew them. It's not a smear to say that about the Smithsonian. I know the types. I spent four years under the direct tutelage of a bunch of bloated ego history professors who did everything they could to avoid the truth about everything that contradicted their poltical views. Like you ignoring the testimony of Reagan's family about his faith.

  • @ram0166 Last time I checked church attendance had plenty to do with faith. Bill and Hillary Clinton attended a United Methodist Church almost unfailingly during his predidency, so those "security" stories really are b.s. (Reagan never went to church before Hinkley's assassination attempt either) Furthermore, to smear the Smithonian with the "clown" epithet is shameful. The institute would love little more than to house as many George Washington artifacts as it could get its hands on.

  • @sidecar771 you they only search for the answers they are looking for and stop once they find them.

  • @sidecar771 How often a person goes to church has nothing to do with their faith. The people who actually knew Ronald Reagan attest to the fact that he was deeply committed Christian, including his daughter Patti. He did not attend church as President because it was a security nightmare that impacted the experience of the other worshipers. Washington's granddaughter Nelly Custis wrote that he spent two hours a day, alone in prayer to the Christian God. I think the Smithsonian clowns are like

  • @ram0166 Washington attended church about once a month, more freqently when politicking, and was not a communicant...hardly devout! The book of prayer you speak of is not genuine according to the Smithonian Institute. Reagan was never a big church goer. These facts ar easily verifiable as the lives of American presidents are thoroughly and scrupulously documented. Deal with it...it's just the truth.
