ARCTIC MONKEYS @ Zénith (Paris) 5 november 09

if you were there, beware

it was practically impossible to film the concert. and i nearly died filming this one (glad that it didn t turn out to be an entire black screen... so just be glad with it really.) the moshing was intense, not life threatening (perhaps feet threatening though, since i managed to lose my shoe three times), but good enough to make you feel you re going to drown. and of course, the red shoes turned black. wonderful.

so the arctic monkeys were amazing live. the supporting band, eagles of death metal, seemed to have some juice in there though i missed out most of it. but after all, a piece of queens of the stone age is pretty cool, no matter what.

anyway, alex and his band played a whole mixture of songs from all three albums, and that s when you get to realise that the less nervous songs on humbug are absolutely necessary to keep the moshpit from choking in exhaustion. ha. but seriously, what a great concert. enjoyed every single song of it. could barely see anything though, since every guy (it seemed like groupies have entirely vanished from the surface of earth) was at least 1m80 tall. and with the moshing, and the excitement, and the fear of losing my shoe (jk. that wasn t THAT painstaking) couldn t get a nice long glance at the band playing (it was like 30 seconds, no more).

finally, on a more personal level, meeting this special person made the night just perfect. unforgettable.... *sigh* (thinking of fluorescent adolescent and 505...)

a dream come true. yes, i ve waited for yeeaaaars to see them live. still can t get over it.
