to evil on our shores. On this solemn day of remembrance, Laura and I hold the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers. We recall the many acts of heroism on that day, and we honor those who work tirelessly to prevent another attack. May God bless our Country...

Sasha Yatchenko is a 15 year old singer/songwriter from Hopkinton Ma. Sasha, who is originally from South Boston, Ma. She began her music career in the first grade at St. Marys School when she played the little star in a stage rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. Following this stellar performance her music teacher, Miss Agatha, took Sasha under her wing and began the task of teaching her piano. Unfortunately, and to Miss Agathas frustration, Sasha found it too time-consuming to learn to play a song from the sheet music and preferred to play it by ear. In another rebellious move (this personality streak comes from her grandfather, John Sloan), Sasha began writing her own music when she was supposed to be practicing her lessons. By the time Sasha was eight-years-old, poor Miss Agatha had all but given up her dream of turning Sasha into a classical pianist and Sasha's mother was left wondering what Sasha had been doing in piano lessons for the last two years. Sasha was the only one who knew what was going on.

A few more years passed by and Sasha moved to Hopkinton. She took piano lessons on and off, but found her passion in writing. She entered the town talent show with an original composition Pitter Patter and received a very positive response. (she became the 'first' Hopkinton Idol) Soon she was composing on a daily basis and looking for outlets where she could showcase her work. She began performing at open-mics in the area and was asked to perform as the feature artist.

In addition to singing and songwriting, Sashas other interests include reading, sports and travel. She has been to Russia twice to visit her grandparents in Siberia and to Ireland to visit the other side of her clan.
