Nice fabrication work, I like this project. I definitely prefer charcoal for grilling or when the food is exposed, but this would be sweet for dutch oven cooking.

    Hi.

Thanks for interest in the project ..

As written earlier, it is only because of the challenge I made it. That we have great pleasure to have two grills in one, that is perfect for us ...

    Hi. caryssilverman

    Thanks for your comment ..

What a shame that my project gave the feeling bad for you.

I'll tell you, I have not drilled a single hole in the egg ... In less than a minute, is it back to the original BGE ..

We are comfortable with having two different grills in one. Gas when we are busy and have a little of time .. Coal, when we have time for a little extra ..

The fumes from propane combusion are carbon dioxide and water. Both of which charcoal also produces in combination with large amounts of carbon monoxide. I use a BGE like it was built but interesting and creative conversion.

Not really sure why you would do this to a BGE. I have heard the excuse of wanting a gas grill for "quick and easy" grilling, but realistically I can get my BGE to 350 degrees in under 7 min for quick and easy grilling. I agree with Snowren once you cook with gas on your BGE you will never get that gas smell out of it. My advice if you want a gas grill buy a gas grill and leave the egg alone.

wouldn't the egg absorb the fumes from the gas? Its a huge no no to use a lighter fluid in an egg, its ruins it forever as it is forever engrained into the "seasoning" of the egg. I would think this conversion could have a similar effect.

Not sure why you'd be so offended by this. I have an egg, propane grill, oven, griddle, etc. Nothing like having options. Besides, it a cool project.
