For me isnt so bad, the sound isnt good and i have heared top players with bad technology and they sound really bad. Yes, some passage are not perfect but even Paganini had bad days...
-
well his hearing has been decaying , he is getting older...
-
i think it sucks. for him. i usually is very emotionally attached to his pieces. now it sounds like he is just trying to finish it and get it over with.

@duhhh86 Well, the most important thing is the playing itself, not the recording quality (for example, Oistrakh always recorded under the worst circumstance, especially in Russia, but he made his music so great). Maybe he didn't practice very hard... Everyone can get worse...everyone... there is no exception.
-
he is digging his violin not playing!
but he used to be amazing once upon a time:(
-
It's a dead performance. I don't understand what's happened with him.
-
he rosined his bow too much.
-
Bravotissima a virtuoso!
-
@OriginalMoonbeam and i hope for the sake of art it is never EXACTLY replicated
-
lol...the "gritty" sound seems to me to be due to the recording quality...
omg... he arguably has the best bow technique in the world... you're such an amateur! lol

Why Russian ? He was born in Moscow but his family came to Israel when he was 1 year old and Hebrew is his mother tongue. Antisemitic Russia drives its jews out but then capitalizes on them if they are successful
