you think throwing something that small on a 7' 3" lamaglas swimbait rod, with a fast taper would be overkill? would want a slower taper rod to give the bait more action?
Not from california here, In illinois, so i only see on occasion catch a 5lb-6lb, thats a throphy LMB in the upper part of the state. nothing like in your video where that fish would probably pull me in the water. lol

i tried that same excact spot in december for stripers.. kinda by pittsburg. i had no luck. i was throwing big hammer swimbaits. thats a NICE SHAD!!!!!!

Looks like a pretty versatile bait...Bubba shottin, on a jighead, or weightless over the weedmatts.
