Soltráfego | Tram Priority System - Green Light for Light Rail

Soltráfego's Tram Priority System (TPS) consists in the integration of early priority vehicle detection and priority, based on a "green wave" philosophy, in a traffic lights control traditional system, allowing local, centralized and remote integrated traffic management.

This system is applicable in urban environment, with tram circulation on surface dedicated lane, on-street or in pedestrian areas.

Early detection of inbound and outbound trams, guarantees minimum intersection occupancy time and increased service level, according to the highest safety standards and requirements.

Soltráfego's innovation dynamics, engineering experience and know-how were recognized with our presence in UITPs World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition, last June 2009 in Wien (Austria), in representation of Portugals ITS technology cluster, marking the international presentation of our solution for Tramway/Light Rail.

Tram Priority System (TPS) is implemented in the 5 main lines of Metro do Porto since 2001.
