Two-time Poet Laureate Billy Collins has a mission to bring good contemporary poetry that is accessible and pleasurable to students in schools across the nation. Here he addresses more than 1,400 teachers at the General Session of the 2009 NWP Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, PA.
Collins read the following poems: "A Portrait of the Reader with a Bowl of Cereal," "Grave," "Palermo," "Simile," "Oh, My God," "Monday," "The Trouble with Poetry," "Litany," "Migrane" or "Hangover," "Hippos on Holiday," "Schoolsville," "The Golden Years," and "On Turning Ten."
I had the exquisite pleasure of meeting Mr. Collins at one of his readings last fall. He is an incredible man, performer, and poet.

I just discovered this man yesterday on University of California TV. He is wonderful, reminds me of Garrison Keillor
