Sorry my friend you are just plain wrong. The .40S&W has much greater recoil than the 9mm. The laws of physics just will not be ignored. A 155 grain bullet at 1100 FPS will produce approximately 34% more recoil thana a 115 grain (mm bullet at approx 1115 fps (a standard hollowpoint loading). The .40S&W round achieves approximately 95% of the energy and performance of the 10 MM magnum round.

@awil222 +1 Amen. I'm not going to tell anyone what caliber to use, since any caliber can be leathal with a well placed shot, but you need to practice with your chosen defense pistol as often as possible. Everyone thought I was crazy for going to my handgun carry course with my .45 Beretta Cougar while everyone else was shooting .22's, .38's, & 9mm, but that was my chosen defense pistol. I finished at the top of my class with a perfect score at the range & proved I knew how to use it!
