I was just running it around a loop of track on the floor. Thank goodness I wasn't running it on my layout in the tunnel! Lionel said the two wires were messed up.

omfg mine did the same thing i was running it and fire blew out the stack what were u doing when urs blew up

Are you sending it back? Mine was out of warranty, but for "safety reasons" they did it for free. They just don't want to get sued if I burn my house down.

I have an Alaska RR docksider, but I had to send it in to Lionel to get the smoke unit fixed. Thank goodness it's under warranty. The darn thing puts out real fire instead of smoke!
