More video from the dusty old videotapes shot on a trip through the Pacific islands in 1984. By a fortunate chance we happened to be touring at the same time a prominent archaeologist, Dr. Stephen Athens, was conducting his research. He was generous enough to give this boatload of tourists a guided tour and lecture.

Chapter 3: We leave Nandauwas for a boat ride through the neighboring islets as Dr. Athens explains what we are seeing. You can get a quick overview of where this is going from the already posted Sketches of Nan Madol 1984.

I consider myself a digital video student. Youtube is my blackboard. I used some new (to Me) software for the remake. I couldnt resist shuffling some scenes so its not journalistically correct but I think its easier to watch. As a student I welcome criticism and especially suggestions and Im happy to discuss techniques with other students.

  • is this acient mu?

  • Well, It’s certainly ancient and mysterious but if Mu existed 12,000 years ago then these structures are modern by comparison. While the ilets were occupied some 2,000 or so years ago archeological data suggest the megalithic construction to be less than 1,000 years ago. Nonetheless the legends about its construction suggest a supernatural origin that cannot be explained by modern science. As to what really happened so long ago, that just adds to the mystery when viewing this incredible place.
