Pop Pirates - One of the last 'Childrens Film Foundation' Movies from the mid 80's and definitely the best. Staring Roger Daltrey (Lead singer of Rock Legends The WHO) & a host of great young actor/musicians.
For all the film buffs, it was shown on British BBC tv at least 4 times: in 1986, 1987, May 1989 & 1992. Originally shown on release in 1985 through-out the world at children´s matinee cinemas. Also was widley syndicated on U.S tv networks.

  • The start of this sounds like 'musical youth'

  • I seem to remember back in the late 80s all the old 60/70s ones look really outdated but htis one was really modern looking, ie they are not wearing flares.

  • roger is singing! ! tune

  • Interesting that the CFTF logo has the bells just before the intro music started... The logo was silent on all the cinema prints when it changed logos from CFF to CFTF, Haunters of the Deep, Terry on the Fence and Breakout were all the same.

  • i was at school with stephen bird who was in this film. he was a celeb at school. sang in the choir with me as well from what i recall. didnt know him too well tho

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhhh the pirates!

  • Wow, that guy is miming to Daltrey right? Great song! :)

  • oooooooooh the pirates, pop pirates!

  • DVD rips of most cff films were advertised on ebay just before ebay went strict. If you ever get the chance check out CFF The Firefighters from the early 70's and Terry on the fence from Mid 80's. Good copies exist of all CFF films so dont worry but its sad that ppl cant legally buy all of them. In the Firefighters the kids chase the fire engine daily on their pushbikes, lol!

  • I think the guy on the drums and keyboards are from Musical Youth and there is 'Ant Jones from Grange Hill and also Roger Daltry. Great clip
