  • I know there are those who hate the updated version of BSG but I can't bring myself to watch the old version with the western shootouts, lizard people, and cheesey special effects. It makes my son laugh everytime they show reruns on SciFi channel.

  • It wasn't cheesy at the time, and one of the best Trek shows had a lizard guy that Kirk fought. This show is 30 years old, so give us a break that like the old shows. I respect those older shows that brought us Galactica, and like the new show viewers should respect the past. They wouldn't have the new show if it wasn't for the past. BTW I enjoy the new show, it has me sitting on the edge of my seat. GINO is what it is call (Galactica In Name Only)

  • @twentythreeforlife cheesy special effects?? sorry, I think The model effects in the 70's look a million times better and more real than the cheesy fake looking CGI with the camera shaking all over the place. the Cylons look like humans and everyone is depressed mumbling in the dark. yuck. I can't watch the new version at all.

  • @MentalRob I've just watched Superman Returns on the tv and some CGI effects (i.e. the ending when he flies towards the Sun )look ultra cheesy!

  • audionautas. com/2010/09/how-to-wreck-nice-beach-dave-tompkins.html Now everyone reading this will know that the voicing of the Cylon Centurions from BSG:TOS was done on an EMS Vocoder 2000 and NOT on a Sennheiser Vocoder VSM201!!!

  • @goldcylon So say we all! :D

  • @MentalRob I understand that the effects were considered the best at the time and wouldn't argue that point. If a 10 yr old knows the same shots of a raider were in every battle scene it indicates the levels of visuals have improved on television now. The shaky cam is indicates what a viewer present at the event would see if they were in another ship. Some people like it while others get queasy. It originated on Firefly (another great sci fi show taken too soon.) Apocalypse = depression

  • @alucard624

The sullying is part of their promotion of their version.

  • @drbotanus Or they wish to remake the past into what THEY think is cool, therefore sullying what was good about the original.

  • Lorne Greene in great bio (Charlton Heston:An Incredible Life) at amazon!

  • He's a whily one that Baltar...

  • That announcer really was enthusiastic about it. I wish that young people today could share this enthusiasm. We have raised a generation than does not just disregard the past.

    They wish to obliterate it.
