Komatsu's Cartersville, Ga., demo site offers a pretty steep grade on which to test machines, and customers at the August 25 intro of the D375A-6 were not bashful about running the 158,000-pound at it (no worries about grouser wear). Wringing 610 net horsepower from the same SAA6D170E-5 Komatsu diesel engine as the Dash-5, the D375A-6 leapfrogs Caterpillar's D10T at 580 hp and 146,000 lbs. Replacing tandem gear pumps with a single, variable-displacement hydraulic pump helps a lot.

  • Komatsu hasn't built the D455A since the mid 1980s.

  • What does the Variable Displacement Hydraulic Pump do / achieve ??

  • What is the point of the video ? Is it like Komatsu D375 school or something ?

They were all running around doing nothing but wasting diesel fuel.

I liked the video, but I am lost as to why and what they were doing....

    Please explain....

  • dumpity dump lol

  • The Caterpillar D10T has been around 5 years now. This size of this new D375A-6 is getting close to the D455A at 620hp and 167,000.
