My Parents Performance/Installation, 2005

In 2005 the Athens based band, My Parents designed an evening of thematic installations and musical performances. The evening began with a set performed by My Parents in a small room transformed into the interior of a lively gift. Every square inch of the room was covered with wrapping paper and enclosed with luminous ribbons of multi-colored light. In addition, My Parents performance within the gift was taped and, in real time, sent out to a large screen in an adjacent room.

My Parents' performance was followed by the exceptional music of Davey Wrathgaber and his band The Visitations, which is also Athens based. Likewise, he was given a room and designed an installation of his own for the night. The walls of his room were covered with the same enigmatic alien/human image repeated over and over again. However, each image was augmented in some way and recreated by the hands and minds of hundreds of people throughout the country.
