I have a RCI 2970 DX and I was wondering if a power desk mic hooked up would improve my audio much more ? The radio has a mic gain so would that be a problem with a power mic hooked up?

@BananaJSSI The mic gain is just a variable resister in line with your audio , used to lower the amount. It helps for easy access to mic volume. It doesn't interfere with a power mic at all. I think the Rangers sound much better with amplified microphones but not turned up high, usually about a 2-4 on the mic.
