The Metinnys hypsauchen are out of this tank now.
The following fish are living in this tank:
2 Herichthys pearsei
2 Vieja synspila
2 Parrottcichlids(they must go to)
5 Hypostomus plecostomus
2 baby Steatocranus casuarius(babies from the former inhabants that survived the totall! emptying of the tank)

  • Thats an awesome tank.

  • Thank you!

It was made by a specialist here in Holland.

he builds very natural aquariums,he came in 3rd on the word-championchips with his own West-Afrika tank in Japan,a few years ago.

He works a lot for zoo's to.

The most dominant fish(because they were 2 males) is out now,and exchanged for a female Herichthys pearsei.

and the Methinnys hysauchen(leafeating piranhas) are out to.

i will be putting a new film on youtube later today.

    Cheers,Willy

  • Thanks Cebo!

No, i stopped keeping Central-American cichlids about 6 months ago after 4 years.

My tank turned into a South-America tank right now, with lots of smaller fish...

    I am good, thank you!

Oh, and please get those coldwater goldfish out of your Central-Americatank, even if they seem to do well, that is so not done!

Give them to somebody with more goldfish, or even better with a large pond in the garden!

  • cool video. i love your pearsei. the synups are nice also. i have a young tank of similar fish at the moment. its exciting to see them grow up. ............. Do you still have these fish, if so , how are they doing. ?

  • Well,as an international writer on cichlid articles you can guess...

I thought i got out all of them, when i cleaned out the tank completely, but since the parents of these guys had a big litter every month,i never saw all of them.

When the tank was empty in my mind,a few of the young found a place to hide as it seems...,and with filling up,i saw them, but that was too late...i couldn't get them out before they were about 8 cms.

  • Did you know Steatocranus casuarius are not central american cichlids?

they are from the congo basin meaning africa

  • Thank you,i hope you enjoyed it.

    Merry Christmas!
