A slightly different method.

Should work with other popular pump action shotguns.

  • evrey time you shoot the 870 do u need to press the slide relice to ejecked a ronde

  • Not at all. When you fire a round the hammer strikes the firing pin firing the round. At the same time it unlocks the slide allowing you to rack the action.

  • sorry. perhaps I'm wrong. just that the grip is diff than what I've seen. you must have changed it from stock no?

  • It's the new grip that comes with the newer 870's.

  • thats not a 870....its a chinese copy. note the pump grip.....not a Rem.

  • I assure you this is no Norinco.

  • @kittypoo1981 This is an 870 I have the exact same gun which I've purchased from remington. It's the grip for the newer 870 Express Security Models. The N870's forend is nothing like this one.

  • Don't unload this way. Just use the shell release lever. It's right behind the shells in the magazine. Depress the shell elevator and press the shell release. That's what it's there for.

  • @HawkLMT An even easier method is to simply use your thumb to press the shell lifter up from the bottom and press the retention spring that holds the round in the magazine. The shell will pop out into your hand. This method is much faster, doesn't require you to swing the firearm around to tip shells out, and will also work for bottom-ejecting models like the Ithica 37 (though you may bruise your thumb while getting the hang of it, depending on the strength of your magazine spring).

  • Great tip! A lot of folks just cycle 'em through. I've seen a lot of accidental discharges that way. Will use this with my 870, but it won't work with my Ithica M37. No side ejection port.

  • Try using the shell release behind the magazine, that is what its there for....

  • thanks for the video i was clueless on how to unload my gun :D
