Jerry Brown wasted money to give money to architects and construction workers... Was it really a waste when you're giving money? Architects and construction workers are needed to remodel offices..
@Runwaystudioz The redecorating was a remodel to convert a library into 15 office spaces. It was approved before Brown got into office. A 15 room re-build for $230k sounds like a pretty reasonable price - 15k per office.
@nafaidni His fiscal conservatism was of the balanced budget variety.... but so was Reagans. It's just that Brown worked with the taxes he got, and cut government to fit the budget... and Reagan worked with the budget he got, and raised taxes to pay for it. Let's bring back Reagan's spend-n-tax liberal corpse in 2010.
lmao at all these he spent this and that attack ads. When your going to launch an attack campaign against a candidate, at least be original. These tactics are older than my great grandma. Who ever made this, you need to fire em. Just saying.
And the American Conservative magazine called Brown more fiscally conservative than Ronald Reagan as CA governor. He declined to live in the Governor's Mansion, he gave away Reagan's Cadillac and flew on commercial airlines rather than the private jet.
Whereas frugal Whitman has only kept her jet costs at $3000000. And spent only $100000000 for campaigning. That money could have saved 1000 jobs for teachers.
@JackTr1pper Ok I was not in California at the time. It was not a check to voters, it was a bailout from Prop 13 winning passage & the local governments being hit hard by spending cuts. Nevertheless, I'm kind of torn on Prop 13. They enacted it 2 years ago in FL & local govs were hit VERY hard. But then again, lots of elderly/low income citizens that couldn't afford high taxes have been saved.

@pd1736 They called him "moonbeam" because he wanted to buy a communication satellite for the State. What a goofy idea, huh?

That was her money. Nothing wrong with being rich unless your a socialist.
Funny how his new ad has a Republican message. Even they know were sick of it.
