"Candytron" 64KB Intro (Final Version) by Farbrausch for Win32, which was released at the Breakpoint 2003 demoparty in Bingen, Germany. This intro made 2nd place in the 64KB intro competition.
The winner was actually "Project Genesis" by Conspiracy(http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=9438) not to confuse with the 64K intro "Project Nemesis", which was released over one year later at Assembly 2004.
The Conspiracy intro wasn't bad, but it was boring to some extend and fellt cluttered together without any plan, much unlike most other Conspiracy productions.
Also, the party version of the Farbrausch intro was a little bit unpolished here and there. The version that you see here is actually quite different from what was presented at Breakpoint 2003 demo party.
There are several versions floating around here on YouTube as well, not kust the "party" and "final" versions, but also side by side comparisons and "custom" mixes of content taken from both official versions of the intro.
I am playing with the idea to create a mix myself, because the ones that I saw did not pick the best parts of each version IMO :).

it's fucking amazing to condense such smooth complex curvature onto models in 64k

Ah, this is the shit right here. :)
Even though it's not the most original demo, it's visually stunning. The music is just pure, condensed awesome.
