Yes we have many American Goldfinch at out feeder for the winter and they have also lost their vibrant colors.

That is an American goldfinch

The white rumps are bullfinch, goldfinch and brambling.
It has to be a goldfinch or a hybrid.

He is correct. This is an American Goldfinch in Winter Plumage. It's hard to tell but I believe it is a female.
