The credit crunch is bubbling up to the consumer level. The central banks are struggling to keep the market stable long enough for the big investors to get out of securities... this is the deep breath before the plunge.

  • The feds lower the rates.

    The dollar devalues.

The price of oil goes up to match the drop.

Foreign investors holding dollars sell them. Now the market is awash with dollars.

    Inflation sets in.

The feds raise the rate to check inflation.

The banks in turn restrict credit.

Depression sets in. And all this because of the greed of the few.

In Dante`s Hell greed and avarice is punished with eternal thirst.

  • You are correct Sir.

"Prefer loss to the wealth of dishonest gain; the former vexes you for a time; the latter will bring you lasting remorse."

  • Maybe I am naive, but it seems to me in a situation of haveing to trade gold people will find a way to counterfit it "Alchemy" I dare say and render it's value a lot lower, makeing it only able to trade to experts who would know a counterfit. I can assure you everything that can be counterfitted will be.

  • hmmmm looking to cash in on your put options?

  • Thanks for the quick reply!!!

  • Most likey the overseas markets (including AU) will be hit as hard or harder than the US. They will also recover faster.

  • Do you think this will affect Australian Markets?

  • Yes, as the margin calls come in to the hedge fund investors, they are having to sell gold and good securities to cover the loss. Expect gold to drop along with the dollar.
