PS Dont u love all the neg. comments from stupid people they don't own or know anything about the breed. ninja loves to run I take her hiking everyday for hours, she swims and runs of the tread mill. It's a shame they are classified in the terrier class and not the working dog class bc my pits love to work. In closing if you don't like our dogs then piss off go watch videos about labs jumping thru hoops.....

Love it! Ninja and smoke should be friends ha. I hate when I see people with their dog tied to the treadmill it shouldn't be forced your dog should want to do it!! Thanks for sharing your video with me!

what you see is you TELLING him to pounce and leap forward when he falls behind. good intentions, but more research should be done.
Smoke has been enjoying the treadmill walks ever since he started. He is very excited each time you mention the word "T" "R" "E" "A" "D" "M" "I" "L" "L"......
Today he did 4.7 miles in one hour when I had to make him get off; gave him the 10 mph burst for a bit.
Just to update you on the encouragement; I say nothing to him, he has water on the side, gets off drinks and gets back on.
For those thinking I was doing something negative to the dog; "EAT THAT!!!"
Go SMOKE!!!!!

@ ksudvm2b - thanks for the positive commentary. I have slowed him a bit although he stills looks and barks for more. I will show you guys some day how he asks for the treadmill and the speed
@ BoarderMountainX15 - thanks for trying to draw me as an abuser of my dog. This dog loves to run on th treadmill and personally it is not fast enough. What you see is him allowing himself to fall behind so he can pounce and leap forward.
Thanks for the comments and I am researching more; he begs

I looked at the time/miles today and it really is not 5 minute miles, it is more like a 7 minutes not that that makes that big of a difference.
I tuned it back a bit today on the recommendation and he enjoyed it still but he gets upset when it is over. really, I never asked this dog to get on the treadmill, one day my mother in law turned it on an that was it. He was hooked.
Now if it only worked that way for me. LOL!!! thanks everyone.

@ mitruxx - I have been lucky with him. He is well mannered, no chewing, destruction, etc... I am scared to let him go too long because I do not know what is good for him. Right now he is doing 10 minutes and about 2 miles 5-10 times per week.
You are right... A good dog is a dog that is spent!
