Please enjoy Teresa's Japanese original song "あなた (Anata) (你)", meaning "You". 信樂順三 (Shigaraki Jyunzou) composed, and 小野崎孝路 (Onozaki Kouji) arranged the song. (Yamagami Michio) wrote the lyrics.

Teresa's corresponding Chinese song is "你 You (Khong)".

The following are the Japanese lyrics, with my English translation in the parentheses.

Nii nii anata wo nokoshi
(You, you .... Leaving you alone,)

Nii nii mishiranu kuni e
(You, you, ... I have come to an unfamiliar country)

Nii nii hitori dakede kita watashi
(You, you, ... I have come here by myself)

Furui chaperu chapel oshareno mise
(I visited old chapels and smart stores,)

Kawa no hotori aruitemita
(And walked along the streamside)

Naniwo mitemo anatano koto
(Everything I look at in this town)

Shinondeiru watashi nanoyo
(reminds me of you)

Nii nii wasuretakute kitano
(You, you, ... I have come here to forget you)

Nii nii atsuku tsunoru omoi
(You, you, ... My love for you is growing more)

Nii ni anata no mune ni kaeritai
(You, you, ... I want to return to your heart)

Anata nashide ikirarenai
(I cannot live without you)

Onnna nanoyo watashi nanoyo
(I am such a woman)

Kurushikutemo aishite yuku
(I will keep loving you even if I am painful)

Namida no naka machi ga urumu
(The town is misty with my tears)

Nii ni wasuretakute kitano
(You, you, ... I have come here to forget you)

Nii nii atsuku tsunoru omoi
(You, you, ... My love for you is growing more)

Nii ni anata no mune ni kaeritai
(You, you, ... I want to return to your heart)

  • Amazing! Thanks a lot. This is one of my all-time favorites.. and thanks for the lyrics translation as well! We miss you Teresa! :(

  • Thank you for your kind comment.

Please also enjoy her various other Japanese songs in my two channels.

  • Beautiful Japanese song as well Vietnamese , and Mandarin !

As I know in early 70's there were a few Vietnamese singers performed in Japan like Ms. Khanh Ly with the

song " Diem Xua " ( songwriter is Mr.Trinh Cong Son) which also has Japanese lyrics .Hopefully,I 'm right ! :)

Teresa sings well this song in both

Japanese and Mandarin ! Thanks !

  • Thank you. I just learned her "Diem Xua 美しい昔" (meaning "beautiful good old days") in Japanese. This is a beautiful song.

  • I always loved the Japanese version of this song...And Teresa performs it as the great artist she was. She makes you to feel every word she saids inside you.

Thanks, Masami43. And thanks, George to tell me that there already was a Japanese version at Youtube and at Masami's channel!

  • One of the most impressive favorites by Teresa! It's simply awesome.Great melody by Vietnamese composer.

  • This song is " KHÔNG", a Vietnamese song written by Nguyễn Ánh 9 in Sai Gon before 1975 ( maybe 70)> The musician took inspiration from the French song " Non ,je ne t' aime plus" ( No, I don;t love you any more) and wrote this song in an hour. Teresa Teng, my favorite singer sang this successfully in Japanese. I 'd like to send you the original " KHÔNG" sung by Elvis Phương, a Vietnamese singer. Nguyen Anh 9 and Elvis Phuong still live in Saigon, Vietnam now.

  • What a beautiful song ! Thank you very much for the lyrics so perfectly presented. Arigato gozaimasu.
