this movie pissed me off at how horribly she was treated. at the end of the movie, i literally wanted to jump into the movie and punch all those women who beat malena up in the face and save her lol

A very good but also sad film. This is just what I made of it, but the boy is the embodiment of innocence and pure heart, and and it's basically getting torn down by the whole blend of despair, sin, hatred present in the film.
I'll admit, being a guy, I went into the movie thinking "oo hot girl" but it had made a lot deeper impact on me by the end (although the actress is still really hot!). It's just depressing what some women go through.

For anyone wanting the translation of what the male voiceover said: "....I pedalled away from my memory of her. And I knew I HAD to forget her...but now that I'm old, have lived my life, have been with so so many women who've implored me to remember them, I honestly can say that the only one I ever can remember is that precious, unforgettable Malena."
For a man, this stuff really resonates; there's is nothing like the feeling one has for a woman when one is young like this boy.
