what the hell is all that background noise? bad upload or is it in the studio during the interview? if the latter, well, hell, that's just unprofessional.

um, it was muchmusic starting out in the 80's. It was far from professional. Its too bad though, I think it got worse the more "professional" it got. Its more fun and laidback.

On MuchMusic, when they conducted interviews back then, there was always this din behind them. The studios were pretty much a big loft, so there was no isolation from a lot of the noise. But, I find when they tried to get more professional later on, it wasn't as relaxed. It got too forced and phony. The corporations have far too much power even when it comes to how and where someone should conduct an interview. That's why a lot of the music pushed by the corps is so damned boring.

Thats funny you say that! I often think of Columbo to when I see Stan. He lives in LA where Columbo was made too. He sings about his coat in a few songs. "Raining acid on my coat" and some other coat lines I can't remember. Columbo had a favourite coat. OK Im going no where with that but I really do think of Columbo.

I've not heard a lot of his stuff but was amazed to discover his band did Mexican Radio. For 20 years the only version of that song I had heard was by Celtic Frost(Hard Metal) band. Just shows you. He only ever charted in the U.K once and we all know the song. Long live Stan.

I often think of Dr. Brackett from Emergency when I see and hear Stan.
