HOW TO: BACKUP AND RESTORE YOUR CYDIA APPS , SOURCES, AND PACKAGES ON YOUR COMPUTER WITHOUT WIFI!!!

Hey youtube, this video will show you how to manage everything in Cydia straight from your PC
using Cyder. Cyder is a program that lets you browse, download and install the various packages found in Cydia to your iPod, its most useful for those people without WiFi.

NOTE: IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CYDER INSTALLING INTO THE AUTOINSTALL FOLDER, ALL OF YOUR DEB FILES WILL BE PLACED IN THE ARCHIVES FOLDER, AND YOU CAN WATCH MY OTHER VIDEO ON HOW TO EASILY INSTALL DEB FILES: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfypfIhPegc

1) Download Cyder here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=1TTORSDU

2) Run the program, and afterwards, a bunch of extra stuff will appear when you open it the first time. Stick them all into the same folder.

3) MAKE SURE ALL FILES FROM CYDER GO INTO THE SAME FOLDER.

4) Launch Cyder (the icon with the wine) if you havent already. Make sure your iDevice is plugged into your computer via USB.

5) You will see the program with 4 tabs on the left. Navigate to the third one (the CD).

6) Click on the green arrow between the iDevice and the computer (the second option). This will transfer all your cydia sources into Cyder.

7) Navigate to the second tab (the folder with the X on it).

8) If nothing appears on the list, go to the first tab, make sure the sources are all checked, and press the green refresh button. If no sources appear in the first tab, you can manually add it yourself (the program requires the full path, see below). If everything is fine, skip to step 9.

9) To download something, go to the second tab and search for whatever you want. Then check your item (tick the box beside the app/theme/other). After that, press download (the picture at the very bottom). You can download mulitple things at once. (P.S. the app you downloaded will have a .deb extension.)

10) Go to the third tab again after the download finishes. A list of whatever you downloaded will appear in the table on the left. Select the package you want to install and click the arrow pointing to the table with the title AutoInstall. If nothing happens, restart Cyder.

11) Click the green arrow between the Computer and the iPod and it will sync it.

12) Restart your iDevice and go to the Package section of your iDevice Cydia. (Cydia/manage/packages). Your downloaded package should appear somewhere on the list (Its in alphabetical order). Tap on your package to go to the details screen. Tap on the reinstall option to bring up the confirmation screen.

13) Quit Cydia and RESPRING your iDevice.*

14) Your app should appear in your springboard (your iDevice desktop thing) now.

15) Post a comment below if you have any questions.

*ALTERNATE:

13) Click confirm to reinstall. If you dont have wifi, a bunch of pop-ups will come up saying the URL http://blablabla could not be found etc. DONT PANIC! After the pop-ups go away, tap on the big RESTART SPRINGBOARD button to respring.

14) DONE!

@mistershaq you need to change the system sounds. I have a video that shows you how to do that. What you could also do is download a sound from cydia and look to see where it is located and what the file name is and then just take a wav file you want and change it to a caf sound

When I load Cyder up,it says 'The program can't start because ASL.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem'. Then it says 'Could not load iTunesMobileDevice.dll, check your iTunes installation'. Help me please
