The outer cable housing on my air rocket chute was damaged (cut through and not restrained) and when I was getting into my ultralight my back pushed on the outer cable which pulled on the inner release cable causing the chute to fire. Luckily, not one was in the path of the rocket.
Aiming the rocket straight away from the glider also facilitates a clean deployment, something that is not always achieved when the rocket is mounted at an angle.
Also interesting to note that a persons voice can be possessed by the spirit of Mini Mouse if they are in close proximity to a rocket deployment. (Sorry Brian, the "oh fuk" was just too much to pass on! >;-))

WOW! Super Lucky pilot and friends...
What sort of machine is this? Rigid and low to the ground - looks pretty nice.
It seems a good idea to mount the rocket so it points straight up and it will not injure your buddys if it is accidental deployment.

The biggest "thank God" is the "Thank God you weren't in the air near the ground"!
