This is our submission for the 2010 Student Sustainability Film Festival hosted by the Northwest Institute for Social Change. This year they asked students to create short films about programs, projects or things that their campus or community is doing to create sustainable solutions to environmental concerns. We profiled We Conserve, a campus wide initiative to reduce energy consumption and instill environmental stewardship in the community's consciousness. We found good things, things that could be improved and overall hint of optimism in the people behind this massive campaign. We realize that our University is far from perfect, but it is important to remember the words of famous Wisconsin Conservationist, Aldo Leopold.
"We shall never achieve harmony with land, any more than we shall achieve absolute justice or liberty for people. In these higher aspirations, the important thing is not to achieve but to strive."
So keep striving Wisconsin.
