You still have time to work on those things. You can do it you have a good ear and you are determined. Just really think about the lyrics and what they stand for and let it shine through you. Kind of like acting;) It's good to record yourself so that you can listen back to it and really get to know your voice.

Then try to have a little bit more dynamic, more feeling. In other words sing like you are telling a story. A vocal coach told me once. You don't have to sing full out the whole song it's when you touch the high notes with a soft voice that makes it sweet. You don't have to worry about singing loud enough for people to hear you that's what the mic is for.
