  • I've gotta admit, Steve Jobs is damned good at delivering an interesting conference. But i still can't escape the nagging feeling that Apple REALLY over-sensationalise everything

  • At the bottom of when he scrolled down it said "Get your non-Apple news". Why?, just why NYT?

  • "The problem is Netbooks aren't good at anything." XD

  • continued from my last comment: it's not slow either I can quicky jump from program to program,And the screen is a hd display, last time I checked HD is not low quality display, and windows 7 is much better than mac os,seriosly almost all the programs I use on my netbook can't be done on a MAC because people don't want to make programs for it because it's really hard to and restrictive, nice try apple, making bull face lies to the public won't work

  • Ok I respected steve jobs but, netbooks are way better than any ipad, I have a acer aspire one, it costed only 300 bucks,(there is also one for 250 and it works well also) it's a full windows 7 pc in 10.1 inches, same size as ipad, Since it's a full windows 7 pc, I can play emulators by using a pc controller, write a document easily, play flash and shockwave games, and everything else you do on a windows 7 pc, Ipad can't stack up, Oh, my aspire one is not cheaply built either,

  • If you want iPad 2 for free go to: goo.gl\QyzJ5 Limited offer, so act fast.

  • @GeekingForJesus Apple doesn't need to release a Flash competitor because it already exists. More and more websites are moving away from Flash and to open standards such as HTML5, CSS, VP8, WebM, H.264, WebCL, WebCL, etc... It is going to take some time, however, before all Flash websites are converted and plugin-less future is embraced. Remember, Apple has actually created the most advanced browser engine - WebKit - and made it open source so anyone can freely use it (e.g. Google Chrome).

  • @g0rsk13g4n9st4 The underlining point is that iPad doesn't run Flash. And a HUGE amount of websites have key features that use Flash. So if Apple doesn't allow Flash (Even if the reason being that Adobe is unwilling to rewrite it for the tablet), then Apple needs to release a Flash competitor. And since no one even uses Quicktime, Apple needs to either release a new solution, or redesign their current "solution" to be up to speed with their modern technology and the modern world.

  • @GeekingForJesus The reason I used the "other tablets example" is to underline Adobe's inability to rewrite Flash properly for mobile devices. Adobe has pretty much stagnated the development of Flash on all platforms (including Windows) until a year ago when they began to feel threatened by iPad's popularity. It is Adobe that's been unwilling to work with Apple to include Flash in the iOS devices, not the other way around.

  • @g0rsk13g4n9st4 Do not use other tablets in an example of why the iPad doesn't use Flash. No other tablet has the development precision as the iPad, and I am sure Apple is fully capable of having Flash run very fast on the iPad, but chooses to not do so for none other than tensions between the businesses.

  • @GeekingForJesus Have you actually tried using Flash on a mobile device (i.e. smartphone or tablet)? I've used both the Xoom and Galaxy Tab 10 and let me tell you, Flash experience is hit and miss. The HP Touchpad is halfway decent at playing flash video but that's just about it. Anyway, IMO if you need to browse a lot of flash heavy websites, nothing beats the good ol' laptop.
