English "translation" of the opening theme to Tales of Symphonia. I believe the song was given to Eri Kawai and the meaning of the song given to KiyariOfMidnight and to myself according to the method described in 1 Corinthians 12:10

"It's the Language of the Angels!" declares Metamorpha. After hearing the song's true meaning, I couldn't agree more.

A note on my faith: I am _NOT_ Christian: I do pass 1 John: 4:1-6 and believe in the same Saviour as Christians do, however, every modern definition of Christian I've seen includes a belief in the Bible as a single work of God and the exclusive source of inerrant wisdom. I do not hold such a belief: While it is the most remarkable volume in human history by any measure, it is not perfect, nor does it either completely or with perfect accuracy represent the will of God. You don't _really_ believe God is small enough to fit in a single book, do you?

  • Nice video. Maybe it'll make me watch this show :)

  • @IssydoraKesic I'm watching a sixteen hour game walkthrough on account of this song, wishing I had a GameCube. It now seems like the second chorus comes from her observations while in her post-transformation trance. While those observations are different OVA vs. game, it appears the lyric is compatible with both versions of the plot, but a little more appropriate for the anime. I hope they do a DotnW episode.

  • NO doubt that this is the best OVA theme ever! I mean it tells the whole story without you knowing(without the translation of course) They really put a lot of thought into this anime and this should have awards flying outta the closet for its performance...I mean Jeez.......This song beast anything music artists have written by a long shot.

  • @SSXsPimp23 "Jeez ... this song beats anything music artists have written by a long shot." Jesus wrote it? (lmao!! I think so, actually.)

  • When I got to the first chorus, I thought to myself 'maybe she's speaking out all her repressed feelings.' With that thought alone, I got chills. If you think about it, Colette WOULD think this. She would still believe that Kratos is still a friend, and that Sheena is a redeemed friend. The way you did this, it really gets to the heart of Colette, and all her feelings throughout this journey. I get this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach when I listen to this. xD

  • @sirena789 Thanks. It's a comment that helps me understand the song, because I didn't quite base the `translation` on the story so much. It came out of my spirit.

  • @deathlyxcupcakes I had the dark feeling of the song the first time I heard it, and when I encountered the full length one (watching the fourth episode), the opening verse felt different. Then I hit the one by KiyariOfMidnite looking for the translation. (Links in video ending and description.) Mine completed what little she had left out. Listening to the original opening again, I realized that it was the second verse, and that's why it felt different.

  • @featherwinglove Same here. I read the first chorus and I was literally shivering and had goosebumps on my arms and legs. How did you come across this?

  • @deathlyxcupcakes Not just the meaning itself, but the notion that I might have successfully discerned the song's meaning in the manner that I described ... frankly ... it has my skin crawling.

  • I started listening to this and it literally gave me chills. I think that the meaning you have said here fits, more than it probably should. The names in the chorus, everything, it all seems to work together rather creepily. xD Thanks for sending me the link to this, though. I never realized that she could be saying "Refill" (Raine, in the anime). *shivers*
