  • The lean towards good or evil is something the Word of God ofter has to weigh in on. Those without God's influence often slip into the deep darkness of sin, and often are permanently lost there. And those who have received even small amounts of God's Word in their lives are often saved from this fate eventually. But the Lord would have us all to come to his saving Grace, but leaves that choice up to the individual. I enjoy life, and give Jesus all the Glory for it. But knowledge is the key!!!

  • @vangard213 I was in from 1979 thru 1981 and it was one man cells in those days. Two men in a cell would be very cramped no doubt. So I have been out for 30 years now, but the memories are like it was just yesterday. I have forgotten some names I suppose, but faces and events are fresh in my mind. I Ran with Sparrow, Snook, Boozer, and a few other good bikers. I still am in contact with Sparrow, and a friend known as Buddy. Both are doing well in life too.

  • @vangard213 Yep "K" was an open dormitory environment in those days, I would rather be in a cell than sleeping in the open. I was in cell 8 on 4B in "H" Cell house. Carl Affliss was my neighbor , he was Dick the Bruiser's son. Bruiser was a famous champion TV wrestler 1950's thru the early 80's. Carl had a run in with drugs and violence. He has since passes away. That is very sad news for those who knew him.

  • I did study Auto Body & Paint in the pen, I worked at a custom paint shop when I got out for a few years. A man has to know how to make a living, and besides "no one was lining up to support an ex con." It takes years to regain people's trust, but I have done this. So, there is hope for those who want to make it out here.

  • @chuckdamailman I guess they will do what they want to, they always have,

  • @wolfeman181 And I feel you on that. No way I'm going back to that terrible place, and I wasn't even behind the wall like you were.

  • @wolfeman181 Can't argue with you there man. It's some nasty people in there that should be incapacitated, no doubt! I guess that education for those who aren't going home can provide a sense of peace. It does sound like a waste of taxpayers money, but I don't know Maybe that education would stop a person from committing acts of violence while in prison.. One thing about our prison system here, is that we have a one size fits all model. So if they take education away from one they take from all.

  • @chuckdamailman Another angle to education is this: If a person will never live to see freedom then why waste the effort and money to educate a lost cause. Some people in prison should be dead, not incarcerated you of all people surely know this. I was there when Steven Judy was there, and I am glad they executed his child murdering _ss . And they need to thin the herd even more, and open the flood gates on those kinds of criminals. Read that guys story some time, he was a hideous monster.

  • @chuckdamailman I agree with you on that, a man has to have some skill acquired in order to make it on the outside. I learned Auto body, and all skills involved at the Thomas R. White School right there in Pendleton; Plus took a G.E.D. course in which I was released before completing it. Hey I didn't wan to stick around because of it either. I finish my education later on in life, and have done pretty fair in life.

The misery of the place has always been my motivation to succeed. :)

  • @chrfix I agree.. good people do bad things sometimes, and everybody talks shit until it is them who are in those fucked up situations.. then they want the mercy of the courts!!!! of course everyone in prisons aren't bad, but this kid represents the majority of society who collectively puts all people who have done wrong in one category. Certainly a thief can't be generalized with a murderer! What if the thief stole because he had nothing to eat? Sometimes good people do dumb shit.
