We're counting down the Clevver TV Top 5 Christmas songs. Don't go anywhere!
Hey everyone! Staying true to the holiday season and all of the festive Christmas songs that come along with it, I'm your host Dana Ward with the Clevver TV Top 5.
Starting us off, this song is one that actually extends the duration of this wonderful holiday that only comes one day per year. It's a pretty big deal because it's basically a Christmas miracle. Let us all celebrate our number-5 pick, "The 12 Days of Christmas". I mean, what is this holiday without a partridge in a pear tree? Or what about the 10 Lords a Leaping? Not only does this song keep your memory kickin with its own count-up from the first day to the twelfth day, but we get to match the Yule thing - like that bird and those lords - to the specific day. That's right, "The 12 Days of Christmas" isn't just a song people, it's a game! And for that, it secured a spot on the Clevver TV list.
Moving on to number 4, everyone always talks about having a "White Christmas". Nope, that's not the next song pick. But we really want this white Christmas so that we can have enough snow to build "Frosty the Snowman!" Psych - that is NOT our next song pick either. So in order to GET the snow - especially here in sunny California - we gotta ask Santa for it. And the best way to do that is to say, "Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!" Did you catch it? That's our number 4 song: "Let It Snow!" Who doesn't want to have a snowy December celebration? And in order to get it, we better all start singing this song asap.
"Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, This one's number 3!" Come on, we just had to include this Yule song on our list because it's simply a feel-good, festive song! It definitely puts you into the mood for the holidays, talking about dashing through the snow, laughing all the way and making spirits bright. Seriously, you'd have to be the Grinch to not smile when 'Jingle Bells' fills your ears!
This next song, at number 2, on the Clevver TV countdown is one that's been performed by Mariah Carey, it's on the Love Actually soundtrack as well as being included on a bunch of other mainstream projects. Give up? It's 'All I Want for Christmas is You'. It's so incredibly thoughtful in its message, saying, "Forget about the presents, Santa!" by mixing in the love with the true holiday spirit. In fact, it's basically saying all you need is love. And we certainly love that "All I Want for Christmas is You" is entirely financially responsible. And that's why it got runner-up on our list!
But just for being so darn cute and really clever to have created an entire lyrical story which is now completely recognizable for all celebrators, our number 1 spot goes to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Yep, you know that this song has been transfered to holiday shows, movies and tons of decorations. In fact, this song tells a pretty good story, if you think about it! I mean, this little reindeer 'with his nose so bright' was different from the rest, and he got teased, but he stayed strong and wound up saving Christmas for all! So for that, we're putting Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in the top spot for our Clevver TV Christmas Song countdown.
Now that we've named our number-1 pick, it's time for you to state your favorite holiday song. Maybe it's "Deck the Halls" or "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" or even another one that we didn't include on our Top 5 list. So make your choice and leave it in the comments section, or better yet, leave a video response with you singing the Yule tune!
Thanks for watching this special Christmas Top 5 from ClevverTV. I'm your host Dana Ward at our Beverly Hills headquarters and we'll see ya soon - bye!
