Columnist Robert Novak has died after a battle with brain cancer at the age of 78.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Novak died early Tuesday morning at his home in Washington. Novak had been a columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times for decades.
In recent years, he was perhaps best-known for being the first to publish the name of CIA operative Valerie Plame. He came under criticism from many for that column, which Novak says began "a long and difficult episode" in his career.
But while Novak for years carried the nickname of "Prince of Darkness," colleagues said his reputation was that of a hard-working and even-handed reporter.
"More than anyone else in journalism I admired the way he operated," the Weekly Standard's Fred Barnes said. "He was a conservative but he was always very tough on Republicans as well as Democrats, and he terrified a lot of politicians in town."
Novak was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July 2008.

An unethical, petulant child-man.

Personal appearance is not fodder for criticism. Nonethelesss, Novak is an absolute dead ringer for Simon Bar Sinister from Underdog. This glowing tribute ignores the friendly fascist policies and ideology Novak would advocate and express freely on the so-called liberal airwaves and in print. Formidable guests on Crossfire would drub this nasty troll. I heard he was Jewish. You can (wrongly) blame the tribe for communism, capitalism, the banks, and even killing Jesus. But don't blame us for him.

I'm actually glad that this piece of shit lived long enough to see Obama be elected in a landslide.
I'd have to loved to see the look and the ugly face of that treasonous, racist, evil little man when he saw someone overwhelmingly elected who was a force for good, basically the opposite of everything Novak believed in. Nice final "fuck you" to the old man.
His betrayal of the brave Valerie Plame will be his shameful legacy.

Good Riddance, you parasitic sleazoid. Too bad you did not live long enough to go to prison for outing Valerie Plame. It's a pity I don't believe in hell . If I did I would wish you were there.

Nearly as right-wing as Ben Stein, and about as attractive.

Yes. Not that I was a fan of the Vietnam War, but why are the liberals whining about Plame, yet praised Daniel Ellsberg for publishing the Pentagon Papers?

Mr. Novak, great reading "Prince of Darkness." That book is a great legacy that you have left for us. Your name with continue on long after Valerie Plame becomes a hostess at Denny's.
