  • A programmable servo has a microprocessor that allows various settings such as the center pulse width and the limits. Some servos have a lot more settings. Servos should be selected for speed, torque, mode, etc. If you need high precision, digital servos, programmable or not, will probably be best.

    The servo does not know or care where the signals come from in most cases. The devices sending the signals may have some expectations about pulse width and speed. Just ensure the two match.
