  • So are you saying that the celebration is lessened by the fact that the people were from out-of-town? I guess I'm not getting why it's such a big deal. Pardon my ignorance.

  • Yes it does matter.

If a bunch of DC natives were out in the midwest somewhere celebrating in the streets YOU HAD BETTER BELIEVE that the media over there would point out the fact that they are out of towners/outsiders.

So I am doing the same thing to them over here that they would do to us over there.

  • Does that matter?

I'm from D.C.! I live only a mile away from that spot.

  • So... I could be wrong...

But I think U Street had the BEST celebration in the city that night! :o)

  • 90% of those people are NOT from Washington DC.

  • Almost exactly 40 years ago this intersection (14th & U)was the epicenter of the devastating riots following MLK's assassination. How fitting that a spontaneous celebration should occur at this place!! Thank so much for sharing so I could enjoy it - with my kids - from Indiana.

  • Dc was crazy tonight! I have never seen anything like it before!

  • I was there!!! It was amazing!!

    Thanks for posting : )

    OBAMA!!
