  • @strobosk it seems to me like it would eventually reach a stable frequency where the object bobs at the right speed to levitate below the laser line... I don't see why you need the micro unless you want distance control.

  • @ossumguywill for levitation you must find correct coefficients P (proportional) and D (differential). So that why you need a microcontroller. For reading A/D channel and than calculation of equation.

  • So is the coil just on/off or can it sense the distance to the object and adjust accordingly?

  • The coil is controlled with pwm using PD (proportional diferential) regulator. The distance is measured with a/d converter on light sensor.

  • I wonder if you can smooth it with PWM and some formulas for predicting its location when in freefall (taking into account the magnetic strength dropoff)
