  • This is of the most rapturously gorgeous post-romantic musical conversations I know -- from Strauss's final opera, which in many ways is all about conversation. If you don't know this music already and want your musical life to be richer at the end of the day than it was at the beginning, listen to this. I also *strongly* encourage thinking about these exquisite interactions as a conversation, with each of the instruments representing a voice.

And this is a beautiful reading!

  • Excellent performance! The tempo, slightly slower than often heard when the sextet introduces the opera, seems just right for a stand-alone chamber piece.

  • Definitely deserves to be heard, very nicely played... ! Perhaps a bit much 'swooning' sometimes, at the expense of natural forward momentum...?

  • This is a world class performance.
