humans are quite suited for surviving but that doesn't make us special. I'd say we are different. Still though we should try to preserve all the species on our planet (or alter them) as long as it takes to make them on the same level of cognition as us.

I had an octopus as a pet (Clyde). He used to sleep in a shell and would use another shell as his door. This was 6yrs ago so I wasn't too surprised by this. Clyde also had great facial recognition. He would come up to the glass and sway side to side when it was dinner time. He was very smart.
