This was 1973 and Lennon was seperated from Yoko at this time, he was lost and perhaps the thought of a reunion crossed his mind from time to time during this period. He was in LA and he was never comfortable there, i have no doubt had John returned to England in 1980 as was planned he may have initiated a reunion. Wounds were healed, but there was still a lot of angst in many 1980 interviews and it is hard to know why when he hadn't seen Paul or George for at least two years before his death.

John's last interview stated he wanted to release a quick follow up to 'Double Fantasy. He also wanted to start touring with Yoko. Providing the public demand was there.
There was also rumours of a musical 'The Ballard of John & Yoko' being produced.
The day he died, John & Yoko had been recording a new song 'Walking on Thin Ice'.
So it seems in 1980 the Beatles were the last thing on his mind.

no way would yoko ever let the other beatles back into john s life...
yoko gave instructions that if paul called the studio to speak to john when he was recording double fantasy...she told them never put pauls call thru...
and that quote comes from jack douglas who produced that cd...but now jack is rewriting history....he is on yokos payroll..but back in the '80's jack had to sue yoko to get his 3 million dollars in royalties for double fantasy and she refused to pay him...nice woman she is
