Ya 'no', there was a bit of toleration back then. I was there, though marginal--one of those marching March-on-Washington-persons stepping forward with the actual Leaders.
Obviously this tune has always inspired Arlo. And so it has always stirred me. My most recent appreciations of Arlo's artistry is well provided by the most recent presentation of his feelings via his music here on YouTube.
