A compilation of photos and videos for the Men and Women of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps assigned to the Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) and all its support groups such as the U.S. Navy Amphibious Warships LPDs, LSDs and LSTs. You can also view this video at www.sageebr.com

The Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) is a class of air-cushion vehicle (hovercraft) used as landing craft by the United States Navy. They transport weapons systems, equipment, cargo and personnel of the assault elements of the Marine Air/Ground Task Force both from ship to shore and across the beach.

An amphibious transport dock, also called a landing platform/dock (LPD), is an amphibious warfare ship, a warship that embarks, transports, and lands elements of a landing force for expeditionary warfare missions. Several navies currently operate this kind of ship. The ships are generally designed to transport troops into a war zone by sea, primarily using landing craft, although invariably they also have the capability to operate transport helicopters.

  • Personnel transport module (PTM) the gray box on the lac is a pain to built. Is like a big puzzle to put together. Awsome vid by the way, and the song reminds me of family guy. Havent you heard??

  • @davidmonsterg what command? ACU4 or were you lucky enough to get to be a BEACH MASTER!!

  • HOO YAH! im glad i got LCAC orders for my first command! so stoked!

  • @dizzilolaray They sound like amazing machines, and after learning about how the Marines used to land, from rowed yachts to the Alligator and AMTRAC, the hovercraft seems like a quantum leap ahead.

I also just saw a fake motivational poster that probably sums up what the troops have to say about it: "L.C.A.C.: Making Marines Hurl Since 1984."

  • My husband works on these, it's hard work. Shout out to all who work on them!
