Ask any hundred carpenters.... In most cases it is not necissary to cut all four legs. The amount of shim under the front (short) leg tells you how much to remove from the LONG front leg, and the amount of shim under the back (short) leg, tells you how much should be removed from the back LONG leg. By using this method, the level is irrelivant, as long as your work surface is FLAT.
Ah just use sugar packets under each leg after the chair is finished and you're good to go haha just kidding
