I'm sure someone already posted this, but there was a terrorist who started making a bomb on a plane with a bottle of Gatorade and a few other things and actually got the bomb to light while the plane was underway, a few passengers caught on and everyone was able to stop him just in time. Since then they made started limiting the number of liquids. I'm not really bothered by it. I usually bring an empty waterbottle and just fill it up one inside the airport.

liquid explosives and there's a lot of profit they get in forcing you to buy their overpriced fluids that are slightly larger than travel sized things.

You can't bring liquids on a plane because a few years ago there were liquid explosives found in a mans bag. He had a detonator with him on the plane. Some airports weren't even letting mothers bring breast milk on a plane for her baby.
